March 31, 2009 (Phoenix, AZ) – One of Arizona’s most reputable and solid recording studios has been purchased by two of its longtime employees, Sound Engineer Jim Sherry and Business Manager Susan Bolin. Both Sherry and Bolin have been part of the Lambchops family for well over a decade, developing an impressive client list and producing thousands of projects for the respected recording studio.
From recording tracks for the Los Angeles film industry and New York ad agencies to a wide array of audio services for local businesses, Lambchops’ client list is a virtual who’s who. Warner Bros, Turner Broadcasting and Sony are among its impressive roster, as well as countless celebrities ranging from Josh Brolin and Toby Keith to Bob Costas and Senator John McCain. A favorite among area and regional businesses as well, the studio is known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, attention to client needs and it prides itself on being locally owned and managed.
Lambchops Studios began operations in 1977, the brainchild of advertising music composer Rick Lamb, and within a few short years it became one of the region’s most respected recording studios. In 1992, the company moved to its current location at 4612 N. 12th Street in central Phoenix, a facility recognized for its beautiful interiors, state of the art equipment and comfortable recording booths.
Susan Bolin started with the company in 1991, first as Office Manager, then promoted to Studio Manager, and serves as the main interface for client services and operations. Jim Sherry, a native of New York, brings a wealth of creative experience to Lambchops. Jim is a graduate of The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences and holds a degree in Commercial Art. He came to Lambchops in 1996 as Dubbing Technician, quickly became Assistant Engineer in the first year, and has been Senior Audio Engineer since 2001.
Bolin and Sherry’s love and dedication to the business and its clients led them to pursue a greater role in the studio and in the fall of 2008 the pair purchased Lambchops from Rick and Diana Lamb. Bolin now serves as Principal and General Manager, while Sherry serves as Principal and Chief Engineer.
While Lambchops Studios has been a full service audio production facility, today Bolin and Sherry have incorporated the industry’s leading technologies and software for the studio in order to provide the highest levels of audio recording services for its client base. Lambchops has taken ProTools HD beyond industry standard with its state of the art C/24 control surface. 24 touch sensitive, motorized faders allow for fast, accurate automation and a superb, uncompromised mixing environment. Frequency analyzing monitors by JBL ensure preservation of sound, so what clients hear and approve in the studio is what will be heard out in the world. The Studio also uses Izotope Rx, the leader in forensic audio analysis, spectral repair and noise reduction for crystalline audio restoration.
